Nimbus Arts Center Intensive

(No classes on July 4th)


Ages: 11-18 (Beginners)
Time: 9 am - 12 pm

Ages: 14-18 (Intermediate/Advanced)
Time: 1 - 4 pm

*Afternoon session: 2 years dance experience required

After the first day of classes, Nimbus staff may place student into the NACI section, morning or afternoon, most appropriate for their skills and experience level. Students may request to switch after the first day of classes. Changes in placement will be based on teacher recommendation.

The School of Nimbus presents The Nimbus Arts Center Intensive. This 3-week half day intensive creates opportunities for incredible growth in young performers. In a positive and supportive environment, students are taught by professionals in the industry specializing in Dance and more. Make the most of your summer at The Nimbus Arts Center Intensive!

The School of Nimbus is the professional school of Jersey City-based contemporary dance company, Nimbus Dance. This summer, The School of Nimbus offers students the opportunity to improve their technique and gain exposure to new dance styles and approaches, taught by Nimbus' award-winning teaching staff (made up of professional company dancers) and renowned master class teachers. This intensive is excellent for students who are looking to deepen their training and experience with dance, whether they plan on applying to a competitive college or high school dance programs, seek a rigorous conservatory experience, or simply have a passion for movement!

The program curriculum includes: 

  • Daily technique classes in Ballet, Modern and/or Contemporary with supplemental classes in Musical Theater, Hip Hop, Jazz & More. 

  • Seminars on important topics for teen and pre-teen dancers including Audition Preparation, Nutrition, Injury Prevention, and Dance History. 

  • Daily rehearsals and repertory classes with guest choreographers

  • Masterclasses with world-renowned dancers & Nimbus Company members

  • A final showcase performance in The Nimbus Arts Center Theater.
